  • Who can take this course?

    This course is designed only for nurses in Canada (RN, NP, RPN, LPN). You will be required to provide your provincial nursing registration details (no restrictions), which will be verified before you can complete the course.

  • Are there any live components?

    This course is designed to be completed at your own pace. There are no live components (webinars, group activities, etc). However, once you start the CSA course in section 6 (IPAC Section) you will have 90 days to complete it. This time restriction is only for the CSA course content.

  • What do I do AFTER I have completed this course?

    After successfully completing the FCN Theory course, nurses new to foot care are expected to complete in-person clinical training in order to work as a Foot Care Nurse in Canada.

  • Is there a textbook for this course?

    Students are expected to purchase the following textbook prior to the course start date: Art & Science of Foot Care: A Clinical Resource for Nurses in Canada (3rd Edition-2024) - by Cindy Lazenby RN.

  • How long do I have to complete the course?

    This course was designed to be completed in approximately 110 hours. Students will have 52 weeks to complete the course, after which time their access to the online content will be discontinued.

Instructor Cindy Lazenby

Cindy Lazenby, founding President of Foot Canada Training and lead author of Art and Science of Foot Care: A Clinical Resource for Nurses in Canada, has been a Registered Nurse since 1981, a Foot Care Nurse provider and Educator since 1993, and she is currently Foot Canada Training’s Education Advisor. In 2010, Cindy was a founding contributor and the first Chair of the CAFCN (Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses).
